Complete the following steps to set up ePrescribe for your organization.
A. Subscribe
Add Electronic Prescription Subscription to your ShareNote Community Subscription.
B. Add Users in DoseSpot
There are three types of users that can be added in DoseSpot:
- Add EPCS Coordinator - You must add at least one EPCS Coordinator before adding any other users. The EPCS Coordinator is essentially the gatekeeper for Controlled-Substance prescribing. They will see all prescriptions created and sent in a DoseSpot Admin Console and will have the ability to approve and deny prescribers the ability to send controlled substances.
- Add Prescriber or Provider - Once a Provider is added they will automatically be able to ePrescribe non-controlled substances through ShareNote Community/DoseSpot. If your Provider would like to ePrescribe controlled substances, they will need to complete the Identity Proofing Process (see next step).
- Add Proxy Users - Users that can add patients, pre-fill prescriptions, etc. but cannot send prescriptions. There can be an unlimited amount of proxy users. There is no fee associated with proxy users.
C. Identity Proofing
There are four steps to complete Identity Proofing for Electronic Prescriptions for Controlled - Substances.
- Your organization EPCS Coordinator will initiate the Identity Proofing process for the Provider.
- The Provider fills out and submits form to confirm their identity.
- After the Provider has provided Identity Proof information and it's been approved, the EPCS Coordinator will initiate the EPCS and Two-Factor Authentication activation process for the Provider.
- The Provider will enable Two-Factor Authentication.
Important Notes
- If you need assistance at any point, create a Help Desk ticket. Do not contact DoseSpot, they will only redirect you back to ShareNote Community which could delay results.
- If you would like to add a Proxy User to your organization, please create a Help Desk ticket from within ShareNote Community. Include who you would like to be Proxy Users.
