The DUO mobile app is used as a part of the two-factor authentication (TFA) process during the EPCS/TFA Activation, and is required each time a prescriber sends an electronic prescription for a controlled substance (the latter is to ensure that only the authorized prescriber is the sender).
Access Identity Proofing Form
- Log in to ShareNote Community.
- Hover over the Managers tab in the navigation bar, and select Client Manager from the drop-down.
- Select any Client.
- Select Electronic Prescriptions from the Health section on the left menu.
- Click green Open Electronic Prescription System button.
- Click the Exclamation Point icon in the DoseSpot window.
- Click the Activate TFA link in the pop-up window.
- Verify the mobile number for the device you wish to use DUO Mobile for.
- Enter your Mobile Number.
- Check the Text Message Agreement checkbox.
- Click Send Duo Activation button.
Download Duo Mobile App
- You will receive two text messages from DUO Mobile.
- Click DUO Mobile App download link from the first text.
- Follow prompts on your phone to download and install app.
- Click the link in the second text once the DUO Mobile App is downloaded and installed.
- DoseSpot will now be listed in the DUO Mobile app.
- Your TFA code is the six-digit number sequence listed.
Note: The Refresh arrow will generate a new code. You will need to generate a new code every time you are prompted to enter the TFA Code in the DoseSpot application.
Log in to DoseSpot
- The TFA Activation window will display back in the DoseSpot Application web browser.
- Your Reference Number should pre-populate.
- Input the TFA Code found in DUO Mobile app.
- Input your PIN.
- Click Save.
You are now able to electronically prescribe Controlled Substances in ShareNote Community and DoseSpot.
